Dale Heusohn | Obituary

Dale Alfred Kenneth Heusohn, 64, of Columbia, died June 13, 2019 in Columbia. He was born March 12, 1955, in Red Bud, the son of Ardell Mueller (nee Brandt) and the late Leon “Cotton” Heusohn.

Dale was a lifelong truck driver, most currently employed by J.B. Hunt.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy E. Heusohn (nee Glotfelty); children Heather Marie (Derek) Hawkins and Nathan Leon Heusohn; granddaughter Paige Margaret Hawkins; sister and brothers Shirley Daniels, Larry (Debbie) Heusohn, Dennis (Penny) Heusohn and Michael (Tina) Heusohn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Vicki (Robert) Miller, Terry Glotfelty, Sheri (Michael) Mize and Gregory Glotfelty; godchildren Angela Neale, Denise Evans and Annette Glotfelty; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by grandparents Philip and Eleanora Heusohn, Herman and Annie Brandt; step-father Anthony Mueller; father-in-law Harry (Helen) Glotfelty; mother-in-law Ruby (Gregg) Kipping; sisters-in-law Pauletta Heusohn and Mary Glotfelty; and brothers-in-law Timothy George Glotfelty and Charles Daniels.

Visitation was June 17-18 at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held June 18 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo, Pastor Matt Friz officiating.

Interment followed at St. John Cemetery in Valmeyer.


Todd Brand | Obituary

Todd Allen Brand, 36, formerly of Waterloo, died June 13, 2019, in Valdosta, Ga. He was born July 9, 1982, in St. Louis.

He is survived by his parents Linda (Keith) Lowery and Allen (Gina) Brand; sister Heather (Jerry) Sherman; grandparents Dale and Nona Joann Franke, Willis Brand, and Willis “Butch” Meyer; nieces Ava and Nora Sherman; nephews Barrett Dusha and Nash Sherman; aunts and uncles; cousins; and dear “adopted grandma” Ethel Stumpf.

Todd was preceded in death by his grandmother Frances M. Meyer and dear “adopted grandpa” Lippy Stumpf.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service June 20 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Floraville.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. June 20 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, Pastor Matt Friz officiating.

Bernice E. Schneider (nee Weber), 91, of Waterloo, died June 16, 2019, in Waterloo. She was born May 10, 1928, in Maeystown, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (nee Hoffmann) Weber.

Bernice was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Waterloo.

She is survived by her children Larry Schneider (Donna Burle), Nancy (Dennis) Nobbe and Paul (Debbie) Schneider; grandchildren Michael and Bradley Schneider, Bill and Matt Nobbe and Ashley and Madison Schneider; sisters-in-law Marsha Weber and Vera Schneider.

She is also preceded in death by her husband Lawrence V. Schneider; sister Leona Biffar; and brother Norman Weber.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School Fund, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Masses.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service June 19 at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Alma Scarlet | Obituary

Alma Earlene Scarlet, 80, of Waterloo, died peacefully June 17, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. Born on April 26, 1939 in Gideon, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Charles Lottie Carpenter (nee Spain).

Alma married her husband, James, on Dec. 13, 1954 in Gibson, Mo. and they spent 64 very happy years together. 

Alma worked as a housekeeper in a nursing home and was a member of the Church of Christ in Waterloo. Her children meant the world to her and she loved spending time with them. Alma was someone who always looked immaculate and enjoyed flowers, especially roses very much.  She had a heart of gold and adored her husband. She meant the world to him.

In addition to her husband, Alma is survived by her children:  Debra (Dianna) Thomas-Scarlet of New Athens, Billy Ray (Debra Kay) Scarlet of Waterloo,  and James Rocky Scarlet of Geneva; grandchild Dale Jene Scarlet-Davis of Dupo; great-grandchildren Mya Gray Borenstein of Waterloo, Illinois, Damion Lee Davis of New Athens, Jacob Andrew Burgin of New Athens and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Alma was also preceded in death by her brothers Floyd and Robert Carpenter and her sisters Annvelene Bolin and Helen Carpenter. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Well of Living Water Ministries of Belleville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Well of Living Water Ministries of Belleville.  

Carroll Crosley | Obituary

Carroll Lee Crosley, 90, of Columbia, died June 18, 2019 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis. He was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Farina., son of the late Harry and Frieda (nee Bauman) Crosley . He was married to Wyona (nee Hanna) Crosley, who survives him. They were married June 11, 1950, in Kinmundy.

Carroll was an entrepreneur early in his life. He developed his own business as a craftsman in plastering. That career was interrupted by service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he became a precision inspector for the Norge Company in Effingham. He found employment at a later date with Shell Oil and moved to Lima, Ohio. When the opportunity to join his uncle in business in St. Louis, he invested in developing Gateway Food Products at the Laclede Landing site. When that area began to be developed as a tourist attraction, he moved the company to Dupo, where it remains today. The motto for his company was “Small enough to care and large enough to serve.” Caring for the company’s customer base and serving their needs was his philosophy. In a quiet way he served his community with a special interest in the Columbia Fire Department, where he was recognized as an honorary fireman. He served as a former consistory member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, a former member of the Columbia Rotary Club, and a member of Columbia American Legion Post 581. Carroll loved nature, hunting and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an avid fan of his children and grandchildrens’ sporting events.

Also surviving are his children, Marlyn (Larry) Mohme of Hot Springs, Ark.; Mark (Sheila Cohen) Crosley of Glencoe,; Adam (Sandy Long) Crosley of Ballwin, Mo.; John (Lara Wuertz) Crosley of Waterloo; and Joel (Marjorie Forbes) Crosley of Trumbull, Conn. Grandchildren include: Janell (Casey) Pycior, Elyse (Trent) Hunter, Rachel Crosley, Jackson Crosley, Jett Crosley, Mackenzie Crosley, Grant Crosley, Melissa (Gene) Boeckmann, Caroline Crosley, Rebecca Crosley, Ameila Crosley, and Harrison Crosley. Six great-grandchildren include: Carver Pycior, Hanna and Hollee Hunter, Trenton and Lillian Inman, and Jonathan Boeckmann, along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, J. Grant Crosley; sisters Patricia Marshall and Gwendolyn Caldwell; and daughter-in-law Roxanne Crosley.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. June 20 at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, and 10-11 a.m. June 21 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. June 21 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, with Pastor Bob Goddard officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: Columbia Fire Department, Columbia Police Department, St. Paul United Church of Christ or the American Kidney Fund. 

Bobby D. Reese | Obituary

Bobby D. Reece, 84, of Millstadt, died on June 20, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 9, 1934 he was the son of the lateWilliam and Jesse Reece (nee Karr). 

Bobby married his wife, Doris, on March 12, 1955 in Waterloo. She survives.

Bobby lived in Columbia for many years before moving to Millstadt. He worked as a construction supervisor for Luhr Brothers, Inc. for 42 years before retiring. Bobby was a member of the Millstadt Sportsman’s Club, the Turners of Columbia and the Operating Engineers Local 520. He loved to fish and loved traveling with his beloved wife Doris during his retirement years.   

In addition to his wife, Bobby is survived by a sister-in-law, Lucille Reece of Millstadt; his children: son Bobby Reece, Jr. of St. Louis, daughter Donna (Kim) Eckrich of Waterloo, daughter Deborah (Ray) Thorsten of Columbia, and son Edward (Patty) Reece of Columbia; grandchildren: Amy (T.R.) Brown of Valmeyer, Ray (Julie) Thorsten of Waterloo, Scott Eckrich of Waterloo, Kristen (Mark) Schaefer of Columbia, Edward (Emily) Reece, Jr. of Waterloo and Lauren (Matt) Newsome of Maryland; great-grandchildren: Cole, Jacob and Emmett Brown, Taylor, Kayla, Hailey and Henry Thorsten, Walton Reece, Jackson Dowler and Jameson Miller, in addition to many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, George Oliver (Lucille) Reece.

Private services were held.

Professional services were entrusted to Creason Funeral Home, Millstadt.

Karen Buettner

Karen M. Buettner, nee Prange, 76, of Waterloo, died June 21, 2019, in Red Bud. She was born June 26, 1942, in Belleville.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband at their former business, Design Electric in Columbia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well. Karen was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Wartburg.

She is survived by husband Ralph T. Buettner (married Aug. 23, 1959); children Debra (Daniel) Row, Vickie Buettner, Keith Buettner and Lisa (Gerald) Koerkenmeier; grandsons Dustin Row, Samuel (Omar) Row, Lucas (Kristina) Row, Shawnn Row and Zachary (Hillary Hausmann) Buettner; great-grandchildren Charlie, Eva, Brock, DeniRaye and Chase; extended family Jaime (Jason) Becker and their sons Connor, Griffen and Jackson, Scott and Danielle Koerkenmeier and their children Brileigh, Bryce, Bennett and Ayden Wittenbrink; sister Betty (Robert) Holste; sister-in-law Iris Buettner plus nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Henrietta Prange (nee Valentine); brother Glenn (Dorothy) Prange and an infant sister Imogene Prange; father-in-law and mother-in-law Victor and Magdalena (nee Straub) Buettner Sr.; brothers-in-law Victor Buettner Jr. and Roger (Shirley) Buettner.

A memorial service takes place 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wartburg, Rev. Dan Ostlund officiating.

Mary P. Meier (nee Grueninger), 77, of Waterloo, died June 21, 2019, in Waterloo. She was born June 20, 1942, in Belleville, the daughter of the late Charles J. and Pearl C. (nee Frierdich) Grueniger.

Mary was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church,  Waterloo; Metro East Social Singles; dedicated Monroe County Election Judge; dedicated driver for the American Cancer Society driving patients to treatments; loved Red Hat Society; traveled with numerous senior groups; board member at Helping Hands; and she achieved her Associates Degree at age 54.

She spent her final years loving friends and spending time with her grandchildren at sporting events, cattle shows and dance recitals.

She is survived by children Chuck (Kim) Meier and Cindie (Eric) Allscheid; grandchildren Miranda and Matthew Meier and Cassie and Krista Allscheid; brother Marvin (Kathy) Grueninger; father of the children John Meier; sister-in-law Evie Grueniger; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She is also preceded in death by her brother, Carl James Grueninger.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. June 28 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and 8-9:30 a.m. June 29 at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. June 29 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Waterloo.

Edith B. Otten | Obituary

Edith B. (nee Menzel) Otten, 92, of St. Louis, and formerly St. Libory, died June 21, 2019 at Woodland Manor Care Center, Arnold. She was born February 1, 1927, in St. Charles, daughter of the late William H. and Helen (nee Richardt) Menzel. She was married to the late Harvey G. Otten. They were married March 9, 1979, in Belleville.

Edith had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 683, St. Libory, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was retired from U.S. Fidelity and Guarantee, St. Louis. Her favorite past-times were dancing and going fishing, and she was a loyal member of St. Louis Cardinal Nation

Surviving are her three daughters, Kathy (Michael) Burke of Columbia, Mary Price of St. Louis, and Pat (Don) Greer of Florissant; two sons, Norman (Tammy) Taylor of Dupo, and Michael Taylor of Lake St. Louis; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Taylor, along with numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation was June 25 at Lawlor Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services were held June 26 at the funeral home.

 Interment followed in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. 

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: The Alzheimer’s Association of St. Louis.

Wilma E. Crook | Obituary

Wilma E. Crook (nee Hemmer), 86, of Sun City, Ariz., died June 19, 2019, in Peoria, Ariz. She was born December 27, 1932, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late William F. and Wilhelmine M.(nee Goeddel) Hemmer.

As a young woman, Wilma worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and later in life at Amercian Home Savings and Loan, but is most remembered for being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was an active member of St. Paul UCC, Waterloo; St. Lucas UCC, St. Louis and Desert Garden UCC, Sun City, Ariz., participating in vocal and hand-bell choirs and volunteering to serve on boards and committees wherever there was a need.  She was also an avid bowler, card player, loved all kinds of puzzles, her favorite game, Scrabble, and was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan. She and Charlie took up golf and bocce in their retirement and loved the year-round warm weather in Arizona where they lived for the past 21 years.

She is survived by children Debra (Ray) Mirly, Steven (Patty) Crook and Ellen (Dave) Muskopf; grandchildren Jason (Jamie) Williams, Jeremy Williams, Colton Crook (Samantha Agron), Brad (Jamie) Muskopf, Kyle Muskopf and Lindsey Muskopf; step grandchildren Doug (Theresa) Williams and Jenifer Williams; great-grandchildren Isaac and Spencer Williams, Amelia Lawrence, Mark and Allison Williams, Miles and Victoria Muskopf and Bryan Hatch; step great-grandchildren Anna, Charlie and Claire Williams and Victoria Bement and McLane Ready; sister Verna (Lee) Deul, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Alan Freitag; nieces and cousins.

Wilma is preceded in death by her husband Charles G. Crook (of 65 years); son-in-law, Douglas S. Williams; and nephew, Kevin Deul.

Memorial visitation will be held 2 p.m. until time of service June 30 at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A Memorial service will be held 4 p.m. June 30 at the funeral home.

Elliot I. Moore | Obituary

Elliot I. Moore, 42, died June 6, 2019. His larger-than-life persona and trademark stubbornness will not be forgotten.

His love of music was surpassed only by his love of Blues Hockey, Cardinal Baseball and being a member of the Waterloo community. 

Although a less than average life span, Moore did not live a less than average life. Family would like to express a special and sincere thank you to Human Support Services for their never ending compassionate care and support given with both dignity and humor. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Elliot’s life in his/her own way – just as Elliot lived his life. 

Elliot is survived by his mother, Diane Smith of St. Louis; sisters Lisa Lawrence of Brighton and Cheryl Moore of St. Louis; step-brother Thad (Julianne) Hunter of Minneapolis; step-sister Courtney (Craig) Hunter Brauer, Waterloo; nieces and nephews.  

Preceding him death are his father Dr. Lloyd Irwin Moore and step mother Lyn Hunter Moore. 

A Celebration of Life will be held 1 to 3 p.m. June 29 at SeeMore Inn Bed and Breakfast in Waterloo.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Ann I. Goessling (nee Patterson), 72, of Waterloo, died June 24, 2019, in St. Louis. She was born January 9, 1947, in Manhattan, Kan., daughter of the late parents David J. and Mavis May (nee Outhier) Patterson.

She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, SPPS Carnival Ladies, retired from RGA (Reinsurance Group of America), avid reader, lifelong learner, enjoyed her family – especially her grandchildren, and held the title of “Grand Kahuna” for the past 25 years. 

She is survived by her children David (Cynthia) Goessling, Catherine (Dennis) Hitzemann, Tracey (Craig) Inman and Tori (TJ) Colombatto; grandchildren Kyle, Colin, Alissa, Erin, Jared, Colton, Brock, Torin, Tess, Clara, Hattie and Stella; great-grandchildren Alaina and Kai; brother and sisters Debbie (Steve) Zischke, David (Kim) Patterson, Beth (Randy) Finney; sisters-in-law Dorothy Steingrubey and Marlene Goessling; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Harold C. Goessling; grandson Patrick Hitzemann; ; and mother Christine Patterson (nee Pate).

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. June 30 and 8-9:30 a.m. July 1 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo.

Corinne R. May (nee Frisch), 92, of Waterloo, died June 26, 2019, in Belleville. She was born August 17, 1926, in Kirkwood, daughter of the late Edward Matthew and Rosina (nee Fleck) Frisch.

She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church.

She is survived by her children Lawrence (Janet) May, Bonnie May, David (Joan) May, and Pamela Sternau; grandchildren Jennifer May, Lindsay (Doug) Bucklew, Sarah (Brandon) Bosarge, James Childers, Heather (Jeff) Haare, and Angela May, Alex Zander, and Amanda Sternau; great grandchildren Owen Haare, McKenna Haare, Wyatt Bucklew, and Ryker Cardwell; sisters Norma (Roy) May and Rosemary Nagel; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Linda Lee Maus | Obituary

Linda Lee Maus, 71, of Columbia, died June 26, 2019, in Waterloo. She was born June 23, 1948, in E. St. Louis, daughter of the late Armin and Leona (Nottmeier) Maus.

Linda was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia. She was a teacher for 25 years at various Monroe and St. Clair County Schools. For 14 years she was a librarian for the Columbia Public Library serving as director for 8 of those years. She was a life-long member of the Columbia Historical Society and served as president for 16 years.

Surviving her are nephews Roger Maus, Allen (Laura) Maus, and Teressa Maus, of Waterloo; great nephews, Jonathan (Jessie) Maus of Valmeyer, Zane (Caitlin) Maus of O’Fallon, Brandon (Taylor) Maus of Springfield, Kyle Maus, Dakota Maus, Andrew Maus, Adam Maus, Brooke Maus all of Waterloo; great, great nieces and nephews, Jaiden, Carter, Jocelyn, and Trenton; and her beloved pet, Sammy.

Linda was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Gladys nee Neubarth) Maus; sister, Marcilee Maus; and nephew, Ricky Maus.

Beverly A. Hirstein (nee Amrine), 90, of Waterloo, died June 18, 2019, in Waterloo. She was born February 24, 1929, in Urbana, the daughter of the late parents Edgar S. and Clara E. (nee Ford) Amrine. 

She was a member of St. Paul UCC, Waterloo,  lifelong Cardinal Fan, an avid bridge player and an expert cross stitcher.

She is survived by her children Gary (Mary) Hirstein, Katha (Mark) Cranage, John (Cheri) Hirstein, and Sharon (Ken Weiler) Hirstein; grandchildren Eric Hirstein, Nicholas (Tracy) Hirstein, Nicholas McClane, Carrie (Mike) Love, Amy (Raub) Olsen, Holly (Adam) Radford, Scott (Jami) Hirstein and Matt (Michelle) Jaenke; eight great-grandchildren; the father of their children Harold Hirstein; brother Melvin (Doris) Amrine; sister Patricia Theros; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service July 13 at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Eunice A. Stumpf | Obituary

Eunice A. Stumpf (nee Althoff), 88, of Red Bud, died July 1, 2019 at the New Athens Home for the Aged, New Athens. She was born March 3, 1931, in Ruma, daughter of the late Victor and Laura Althoff.

Eunice was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud, where she had been a Sunday school teacher, enjoyed singing in the choir and playing handbells and enjoyed many other church related activities.  She had worked as a bookkeeper for Menard Auto Sales in Ruma and Birke Motor Company in Red Bud. She enjoyed music, gardening, sewing, crafts, playing cards and dominoes. 

Surviving are her daughters Natalie (Karl) Francis and Susan (Mike Degenhart) Rahn; her grandchildren Chris (Tammy) Rahn, Brad (Amy) Rahn, Corey (Alyssa) Rahn, Nathan Francis and Whitney Francis; her great-grandchildren Evan Rahn, Drew Rahn, Ella Rahn and Layla Rahn; her brother Kenny Althoff; her son-in-law Larry Silch; along with other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Stumpf; her daughter Julie Stumpf-Silch; her sister Bernadine Stellhorn; her brother-in-law Edgar Stellhorn and her sister-in-law Carolyn Althoff.

Visitation will be on 4-8 p.m. July 8 at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud.

Services will be held 11 a.m. July 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, with Rev. Mark Nebel officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud. 

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud or St. John’s Lutheran School in Red Bud.

Josh Crimm, 38, of Waterloo, died July 4, 2019, in St. Louis. He was born Dec. 29, 1980, in Belleville.

Josh was a member of the NRA, avid gun and knife collector, enjoyed being with his family, camping and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Traci Crimm (nee Grosvenor); children Michael Crimm and Emily Crimm; parents William Crimm and Debra (Terryl) Walster; grandmothers Jean Rahn and Mary Crimm; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Kenny Rahn and Willard Crimm.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. July 8 and 8 a.m. July 9 until time of service at Quernheim Funeral Home

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. July 9 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo, Pastor Patrick Poole officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown.

Merlyn C. Sinn, 88, of Waterloo, died June 26, 2019, in Waterloo. He was born October 12, 1930, in Marissa, son of the late Clarence and Susan (nee Knecht) Sinn.

Merlyn was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo; Indian River City United Methodist Church – Titusville, Fla.; a US Navy Veteran; and an avid golfer and fisherman.

He is survived by his daughter Sherry (Michael) Dreps; son Scott (Jennifer) Sinn; grandchildren Aerica (Gregory) Pilkey, Kelsey (Brandon) Leetch, Adam (Madison) Rice, and Alanna Rice; great grandchildren Tristan, Gabriel, Lukas, and Brody; sisters Betty (Lee) Rogers and Gretchen (Jim) Jubinski; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don “Hoofy” and Delores Reifschneider; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Sinn (nee Reifschneider); daughter Stephanie Rice; step mother Hazel Sinn (nee Brown); and brothers Greg Sinn and Mickey Garrett.

Doris Lee Viola Taylor (nee Darnell), 88, died June 17, 2019, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella, Iowa. She was born March 7, 1931 in East Carondelet, daughter of the late Raymond and Dora (nee Sieburt) Darnell.

She lived in Waterloo until becoming a resident in Knoxville, Iowa.

Doris is survived by her children Judith Ann Bahr and Ron Mason of Knoxville, Iowa, Lawrence L. and Debbie Taylor of Waterloo, Carol and Jim Walker of Ankeny, Iowa, Betty and Kevin Dickneite of Velmar, Ill.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Gloria McClain of Sullivan, Mo; along with nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her husbands Bill Shirley and Glenn L. Taylor; and siblings Jerri Darnell, Norman Darnell, Bob Darnell and Don Earnest.

Visitation was June 22 at Quernheim Funeral Home.

A funeral was held June 22 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo, Pastor Darrell Jones officiating.

Interment followed at St. John Cemetery in Fults.
